About the Project
Grooves & Sushi is the new web series & album by bassist Norm Stockton. It features many iconic, world-renowned musicians recorded and filmed performing together live in Norm’s living room!
Each session assembles musicians who have never played together prior to the taping, playing music that has never been performed before. An on-site sushi chef serves up great eats as Norm & his friends share their thoughts on music, sushi, creativity, art and more.

Featuring many iconic, world-class musicians recorded and filmed performing together live in Norm’s living room, this episode features nuanced performances within a jazzy ballad called "Amber."
Episode 7
Episode 7 features “Blizzard”, a funky & bombastic live performance by a spectacular ensemble including Gregg Bissonette (Ringo Starr), Brandyn Phillips (Ariana Grande), Brian Willett (OneRepublic) and more.
Episode 8
Episode 8 features 7-string bass, cello, bass clarinet, muted trumpet and brushwork in a sparse & poignant piece entitled "Field of Broken Glass." Special guests include Zoro (Lenny Kravitz), Brandyn Phillips (Ariana Grande) and more,
Episode 9
Episode 9 features a funky, rock-infused interpretation of “Mirrors”, the modern-day classic from pop icon Justin Timberlake. The only cover song of the project, this tune was the first Grooves & Sushi performance to be tracked.
Episode 10
Episode 10 features a guitar tour-de-force, “A Wristwatch On Mars”, performed by special guests Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), Chris Coleman (Prince) and more.
Episode 11
Episode 11 features the bombastic and impolite “With A Touch Of Avalanche”, with stellar performances by Chris Coleman (Prince), Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy) and Rob Rinderer (Billy Preston).
Episode 12
Episode 12 brings Season 1 to a close with the funky and much improvised “Normenclature.” Spectacular musicality provided by Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy), Chris Coleman (Prince) and Rob Rinderer (Billy Preston).
